Healing from Personal Traumas

While working thirty years as a Registered Nurse and Addiction Counselor on drug, alcohol and mental health units, I became aware of several patients experiencing traumas which were never addressed with appropriate treatment. They sedated the mental, physical, emotional and behavior consequences with drugs and alcohol.

ABOUT THE BOOK

While working thirty years as a Registered Nurse and Addiction Counselor on drug, alcohol and mental health units, I became aware of several patients experiencing traumas which were never addressed with appropriate treatment. They sedated the mental, physical, emotional and behavior consequences with drugs and alcohol. I decided to write this book to share my 25 years of therapy from several traumas I experiences throughout my eighty years of life.

Readers' reactions

I wrote a book entitled " Creating a Wholesome Human Being'" with the subtitle "A Lifelong Journey" with pen-name Monique Goulet to prevent my children's identification from being known. My family and friends told me they were shocked by my transparency. I had suppressed this information except when I talked to my therapist. I am using my own name with excerpts from my book with a focus on my traumas. My family and friends are from Connecticut. My nursing supervisor read my book and told me I was her hero because of my transparency.
